History

The late R. E. “Dusty” Rhoades founded the Maranatha Bible Society in 1980. It began as Maranatha Youth Ranch holding summer camps for young people. Along with this ministry there were two summer conferences with the emphasis on revival. This burden of revival was needed as the truth began to decline in the churches. There was also a printing division known as Maranatha Publications.

When Maranatha Bible Society was formed, the burden was to make the truth known according to Paul’s exhortation in 2 Timothy 2:15 “rightly dividing the word of truth”. This truth is made available through literature, audiotape recorded messages, and home Bible studies. Several commentaries and books on various important Biblical subjects written by R. E. Rhoades are available.

Maranatha Bible Society consists of several groups of believers around the country meeting in home Bible studies as members of the Body of Christ as revealed to the apostle Paul in Ephesians and Colossians. We stand firmly on the King James Bible as God’s Word and as our sole authority on rule and practice.

There are two national conferences held each year: winter and summer. There are regional conferences held in spring and fall. There are others who correspond and use our literature. Conference messages are available in audio and/or written form.
